Day Six

I have to share a funny story before I post some pics. At least it was funny to me:) I spent the day running errands and sorting things out to pack, so I wasn't with the team all day. I did, however, catch up with them at the guest house for dinner tonight. Because it was raining, I decided to take a tuk-tuk.

As I was walking down the street, one pulled up. So, I asked him (in Khmer) if he was busy or was able to drive me. He seemed a little confused...and then a woman popped out of the tuk-tuk. The rain flaps were down so I didn't realize she was in there. I excused myself and started to walk away when she stopped me and said he could take me. So I got in. And so did she. I have never had that happen before:) So, I took it as an opportunity to practice language and while he took me to meet the team, we had a nice little conversation about the weather and families and work...pretty much exhausting my knowledge of Khmer. It still makes me chuckle while I type.

So, because I was not with the team, I did not get pictures of the day. But, Morgan and Heather gave me some of theirs. Today was a fun day at the water park with all four orphanages and then refreshments and dancing out at the school. I suppose one might use the term "water park" loosely in this situation. But the kids absolutely love it! Khmer people typically do not wear swimsuits, but instead just use whatever outfit they have. So you'll notice mostly shorts and t-shirts in the pics. And you'll notice lots of smiles!

I truly believe that it greatly pleases God that ones have made sacrifices to bring so much joy to His little ones.

Tomorrow is the last full day for the team. Please pray for continued stamina and continued good health. We will end our day out at Vista's home playing and eating a meal with the kids. It promises to be an emotional good-bye as it always is. But, we do get to see the new baby tomorrow as Pisey is home from the hospital. I will make sure to get some good pics of him!

You can also pray for me. Tomorrow is my last full day here as well. I will be leaving with the team on Friday for a 2-month stay in the states before returning here in September. Even though I know I will be back with the kids, I know it's going to be incredibly hard to leave them. I have seen them grow and change so much this year and don't like missing even one moment with them! But, I am thankful that I will be returning. Please pray for all my last minute preparations. Blessings to you all.

So I was just remembering... when we went to the water park the girls had underwear sticking out under their swimsuits if they had one on, it just makes me smile thinking of that.

Praying for you and the team. Safe travels to all of you.
