New Year's Eve

Happy New Year everyone! Can you believe it's already 2009? I hope you all had fun ringing in the new year. I got to spend my New Year's Eve at a party for all the orphans. I was telling someone the other day that those moments continue to be surreal for me. And I hope they never become mundane!

All four orphanages gathered at the school for dinner and fun. The directors cooked up some chicken wings and shrimp...with rice of course. And there was ice cream for dessert. The kids got to play and dance and laugh and eat. They had lots of fun!

Here are some shots of the night...

Here is a short clip of the fun before dinner. Music, hula hoops, swings...

Dancing is one of the favorite activities for our kids! Check out the sweet moves of Vista's youngest boys.

Thank you so much for posting the videos of the kids dancing. Michael was just putting on some similar moves this evening! To fun!! I love the change that is so visible in the kids faces! They are being transformed and it is such a blessing to get even a little glimps of that! I am so thankful you get to love on them! Love you friend!!

Jen,
I sent you an award (check out alidotes).
And I DO NOT expect you to follow the award rules. I just wanted to let you know that I think you're great - no strings attached!
