So, it's been a little while since I last posted. I got knocked down pretty good by an illness this past week, and the only pictures that I would be able to post would be from the view of my room. Not very exciting. But, I think I am finally on the mend. Gotta love the z-pack!
Today was the first time that I made it out and about other than trips to the corner store for juice. So, I don't have much to share other than a few thoughts and observations. Here they are...by the numbers.
• 86...degrees. The actual temperature here today in Cambodia.
• 93...degrees. What weather.com says it will feel like here in Cambodia today. This is supposed to be the "cold" season here. It's all relative. I am a little worried about what the actual "hot" season is going to be like.
• 2...boxes of Kleenex that I have been through this week. I will spare you the details. But, I am thankful that I could even find actual Kleenex brand tissues here.
• 17...kids at the Vista orphanage. I have missed them all week and can't wait to see them and get some hugs.
• 4...little girls. I walked down to the corner store to get some juice this week and saw 4 barefoot and dirty little girls playing in the street. They were hanging out at the gas station hoping to get some handouts. It breaks my heart. It can be overwhelming sometimes to be giving so much and yet feel like I am not giving enough. Wishing I could bring them all home.
• 1000...Riel. The cost to get air put in my bike tires by a guy on the roadside. I was about to protest that it was too expensive and bargain...until I remembered that 1000 Riel is the same as a quarter.
• 1...year. Working to get a 1-year visa with multiple entries. Hoping that it's not as treacherous as my last visa experience:)
• 9...cockroaches. That's the number that I killed in the house this week. It's a record for me. I have now grown to the point that I can pick the dead ones up with a paper towel. I'm thinking about turning pro.
• 13...live chickens laying on the ground at the entrance of the shop I went to yesterday. It was a photo store in the middle of the city where I got my visa pictures taken. Don't ask me why there were chickens there. It's Cambodia.
• 6...days until friends from Vista arrive!! Can't wait to see you all:)
Hopefully I will have some new pictures soon!!

So glad that you are feeling better. I'm so excited for you to have fellow Vistans visit you!
Thanking God that you're feeling better. Loved your list by numbers...the thought of the chickens made me giggle. So, NOT, what we see here! Hope your weekend is good!
Can't wait to see you and the cockroaches :)
I am so glad that you are feeling better! Just think in a few short days you will have some visitors! What a blessing! I love the fact that you are able to kill those cockroaches! I look up to you with that! You are so brave and a hero in my eyes! I have to make Brian kill bugs for me! What an inspiration! Love you bunches!
