So, here's the scoop on the pictures. We have to go to internet cafes here in Cambodia. The computers are not exactly up-to-date, and it's easy to get a virus if plugging thumbdrives in. So, we took the time before coming tonight to create a CD with all the pictures that we could download into the blog....and there is no CD drive!!! We will keep trying. If all else fails, Jen will be back in Thailand on Friday and Cristen will start traveling back to Ohio. We will make sure to post them as soon as we can.
Instead, we had so much fun creating our last top ten list that we decided to do another. This is especially for those of you who plan on traveling here...which we highly recommend! So, here is the list of...
TOP 10 ITEMS TO PACK FOR YOUR TRIP TO SOUTHEAST ASIA
10) The bugs are bigger here, and they are everywhere. Bug spray is a must.
9) It's HOT, HOT, HOT!! Water is essential. Bring a water bottle and refill every time leaving the house. At times, you may feel like you are sweating out more than you are putting in. In fact, I (Jen) was sure I must be melting last night with how much I was dripping!
8) Lots of sweating = smelly people - bring lots of deodorant. It's just as important for others as it is for you.
7) For light sleepers - ear plugs and an eye mask. 21 people in a house - enough said. 8 hours are a must!
6) Granola bars - the food is great, but you may find yourself sitting in front of something you don't recognize!
5) A camera - to capture the smiles, laughter, and the beautiful children.
4) Your own blanket - yes, even in SE Asia. The air conditioning is not always reliable here in the house.
3) Shower shoes - no shower stall means the bathrooms are in a constant state of wetness.
2) A backpack - review the above list. Most of it (and more) you have to carry around with you!
and the number one item is...
1) Toilet Paper - did you read the previous top ten list?! Every public toilet is BYOTP.
We traveled back from Battambang to Phnom Penh today. A five hour trip turned into 7...so we are not going to be doing any more work today. Tomorrow, Cristen will travel to a city up north to do some sightseeing. Angkor Wat - one of the wonders of the world. It's absolutely beautiful. Jen will be here in Phnom Penh and will try to solve this picture issue. The kids are too cute to not show you!!!
