We arrived in Thailand at 12:30 in the afternoon on Saturday (1:30 am in Ohio). All of our luggage was here...thanks for your prayers! After dropping everything off at the guest house, we changed into our suits and met the children at a pool for an afternoon of swimming. We were taken in by the beauty of the countryside as Chiang Mai is at the foot of mountains. But we were also taken by the beauty of the children.
Jen was touched to see the children again. It was good to see familiar faces and see how they have grown since last year. Cristen doesn't even know where to begin in talking about them. They are beautiful in every way. They take care of one another. Their relationships are unique in the way they interact with each other. They laughed and splashed and played...and probably would still be in that pool if they could be. They are just incredibly happy.
Tomorrow is Sunday, and we will start the day with worship at the orphanage. A busy week with the kids begins.
