Greetings friends,
So we were out last night or a nice boat ride on the Mekong River and got caught in a downpour the likes I've never seen. Fortunately we had shelter from the roof and a couple of sheets of plastic on each side of the boat(I use this term loosely - Jen said she would not have stepped foot on something like this in the US) It did stay afloat. I had thoughts of Gilligan's island 3 hour tour (go ahead and start humming the tune now)
At dinner we had the chance to spend more one on one time with several of the college students who had gone with us to the Kein Khleang orphanage (government run). We'll try to get some pictures up for you to see - the horrible conditions there are beyond description. It was great to see the students we support singing songs, doing relay races with the kids and sharing the good news of Jesus with them. We also brought nourishing snacks and other essential items for them. The children are so gracious and very thankful for any gift they receive. They're precious!
When we returned from dinner along the river, the electric power in the guesthouse was out . . . you guessed it - no air-conditioning! We were all exhauted and in need of a good sleep. However, God was good and in about 20 minutes the power was restored and the cool air returned for the night.
More to share later - got to hop on a moto and get back to leave for Prey Veng. We will be doing dinner and gospel outreach tonight to support one of the churches here in Phnom Penh.
We'll write again ASAP.
Thanks to you all for your thoughts and support in every way.
