Bingo

I spent some time with our kids Saturday morning. If ever I am facing a challenge or having a difficult time...moments with them remind me of what is important in life and why I am here in the first place. What a blessing it is to show up and be greeted by their smiling faces and joyful hearts. I am so thankful to have the privilege of being a part of their lives.

Pisey is making outfits for the kids for a traditional Khmer dance. I love that the kids learn about their heritage.

Cheata and Longdich (below) help with the sewing. I love that they learn life skills from Savong and Pisey.

I brought a game of Bingo with me which they absolutely love! I had brought it once before, and as soon as I showed up, they said, "Hello mommy. Bingo!" You can see that even Savong joined in the action.

Our kids have been learning English at school. Those up to 6th grade go to the Asia's Hope Christian school where they learn in English half the day and in Khmer half the day. For most of our kids, this year is the first exposure to English that they have had. For some, it's the first time they have been in school. They know quite a few English words now. So, we were practicing some pronunciation through the game.

Sothurn won a couple of games, so he took over for me.

He did such a good job, that he, Sophann, and Savong joined me at the orphanage down the road to teach them the game as well. It was so sweet to see them take charge.

Then, it was lunch time. The kids had Mi Cha with beef...which is fried noodles.

Pisey serves the kids food. She and Savong are true servants. They don't eat until the kids have been fed.

I caught Yohan at an awkward moment.

But not as awkward as Sreyroth:) She really did love the food, though!

I love spending even these every day moments with the kids. And I will miss them when I am back in the states. So thankful that I won't be leaving them for long!
